Hi, we have a 14 year old cat that weighs 8kg (however, he is very big in build).
He vomits a little now and then but never when we are at home but only when we have been away longer than 12 hours.
He also vomits whole pieces, so the feed is not digested or chewed.
What can this be due to and should you go to the vet?
He is also well and happy and cuddly otherwise.
Hey!
I would recommend that you take him to a veterinarian to investigate this. In addition to hairballs, it is abnormal for cats to vomit and if it happens often, I recommend an investigation by a vet.
You could start by seeing if a change of feed can make him vomit less often. Try e.g. Hill´s i / d, Royal Canin’s gastrointestinal or Purina Pro Plan EN. Change slowly and try for at least 4 weeks to evaluate the effect of the feed.
