Hey!
My cat wants to eat all the time, he was like that since we bought him 3 months old, now he is 8 months soon, dewormed and vaccinated.
He has no feeling of fullness from what I can tell, even though he has just eaten and we sit and eat, he comes and begs for more constantly.
He was skinny when we bought him, maybe it was in that family he had to fight for food and learned the behavior.
Now he is starting to become overweight.
We still try to limit and control his eating as much as possible, but it feels stressful and not normal.
He eats both wet food (Sheba, Pussi junior) and dry food One purina junior.
Poop is normal texture.
What can we do?
Hey!
Is he neutered?
If he is neutered, it is a good idea to switch to a feed for neutered cats with a little less energy.
If it is difficult to beg, you must be consistent and never give in when he begs. Only provide food at set times or get a timed feeder.
Then he finally learns that it does not pay to beg.
A lot of wet food can be good for hungry cats because it will increase the volume that can make the cat feel full.
Let him “chase” the food by throwing dry food balls that he can catch 1 and 1.
Preferably use activation food bowls for dry food so that he can work for the food.
Hope you can benefit from these tips!
