I have a small kitten of approximately 3 months, and I have given it a deworming treatment a few weeks ago. I now have 2 questions for you.
Question 1: If the cat eats unusually much or is very hungry, does it have a worm infection or is it a myth?
Question 2: Can the cat’s different worms infect humans? Are they contagious to us?
If the cat sleeps in our beds or in the children’s beds, can we be infected?

1. It can be due to a worm infection but there can also be a number of other causes that make your cat very hungry.
2. Yes, humans can contract worms from cats and dogs, including roundworms, hookworms and tapeworms.
The risk of being infected by the cat’s worms is very small, though.
To avoid infection you must ensure good hygiene when emptying the cat’s box as it is the cat’s feces that can be a risk.
Cuddling with the cat or having it in bed should not be a danger.
