Hi, my cat is biting itself so it starts to bleed and gets sore on the legs.
We have to wear a collar on him to keep him from getting worse.
Once he has the collar on he is calm but as soon as we take the collar off he starts biting, either he bites off the scab so it starts to bleed again or if it is completely healed he bites a new wound somewhere else on one of his legs.
He has been doing it in rounds for several years and now it has been going on for too long but we can not figure out what is causing it. What can it be?
We have previously tried to get help from a veterinarian but have received very little help which has not done much good unfortunately.
Grateful answers!
Hey!
How sad that your cat has this problem. I would guess that your cat has such an itch due to allergies.
To investigate this, you must seek the help of a veterinarian.
It is important that your cat receives the correct treatment so he does not have a collar on and off.
Seek another veterinarian if you have not received good help before. Preferably a veterinarian who specializes in skin diseases.
