Hey!
I have a question regarding my almost six month old male cat, he has since he was ten or eleven weeks sometimes peed in our bed.
Even though he has had two clean litter boxes to go on.
He is an outdoor cat and he takes care of himself most of the time, but sometimes it happens that he can not keep up.
By the way, he is fine, he is accompanied by a seven-year-old female cat who is not his mother but thinks she is.
She takes care of and nurtures him, I wonder if it would help to castrate him now or is he too young for it?
I can point out that it does not smell like his piss, not that kind of thing anyway.
Hey Debbie!
Yes, six months is a little too young to neuter a cat.
I think you should wait until he is a few more months old, around ten – eleven months before you consider moving forward with the procedure.
If a cat has started peeing where he or she should not, it can be difficult to “take it out” of them.
My one female cat pees in bed from time to time, especially when she gets stressed by something, e.g. other cats visiting as well as when she runs.
You can put a plastic curtain over the bed and towels on this so it does less if he fails sometimes.
It is good that, if you see him pee in bed, carry away with him on the box, and fya on him.
Good luck!
