Hey!
My cat Zimba ran a number of weeks ago so I took her to be mated. She was there for a week.
We took her home because the breeder had not seen anything happen.
However, she had seen them sleeping together in the morning when she came in to them. When we got home she slept for several days, after about two weeks her teats swelled up and turned pink.
After two more weeks, she started screaming again, albeit brighter, mostly like moans. She quit after a few days. She has grown about two cm, eats more and sleeps more.
After another two weeks, she started yawning again, sometimes a little dark but most desperately yawning.
I have built a box for her that she likes to sleep in.
Can she be pregnant despite the whining?
She may well be pregnant, even if the breeder has not observed anything.
Many females have over time come home with the message “Nothing has happened!” and born according to plan after a while.
She can of course also be imaginary pregnant, but if she has grown two cm. around life, I am almost certain, that there are “starlings in the nest”. They grow so rarely during an imaginary pregnancy.
Then the wheezing must be due to hormonal fluctuations, which are common in a first-time pregnancy.
But if you want to be completely sure, you have to ask the vet to look at her. He / she can decide that with certainty.
