My neutered male cat, 11 years old, is overweight.
He weighs 7.5 kg.

Yes, you read that right.

He eats ROYAL CANIN VETERINARY DIETS URINARY S / O MODERATE CALORIE dry food the amount he should have according to the table per day about 75gr, but he has received a few (10-20) pieces of candy daily as well.

Cat candy that you buy at the local department store, such as “Dreamies” Small crispy pillows that contain less than 2 kcal per piece, it says on the bag.

I’ve stopped giving it to him now.

My question is:

Is it better for the cat’s weight to give him some tuna in water, raw chicken wings or shrimp if you want to give him something good sometimes?

He does not think it’s fun to fool around anymore so it’s hard to activate him.

He’s an indoor cat.

I want my prince to stay with me for as long as possible and I worry that he will get diabetes due to being overweight.

Any advice you might have would be very helpful!

Thank you so much.
