I have a 12.5 year old male cat named Morris.
Unfortunately, it does not look better than that I have become allergic so I have to get rid of him in some way.
What is best for the cat? Putting him down or relocating him?
Of course, putting him down becomes difficult after all these years together and relocation is probably a bit difficult for such an old cat, especially when he is not particularly cooperative with people other than me. What do you think?
Hey!
Yes, you probably do not like my advice, but as I always think, a good life should have a good end.
And you are the one who will make sure that there is a good end, a relocation of such an old cat is not a good life for the cat if it is not used to changes.
So with a relocation (and who wants such an old cat) it is not certain that the cat will find itself in the right place.
So unfortunately, my advice in this situation is to give the cat a dignified ending.
How you do it is your decision but if the vet can come to your home it is best, otherwise ask for an appointment with the vet where you can have peace and quiet and say a nice goodbye to your cat.
