We have two kittens (around 6 months old).
Ever since we got them have they gone on the box (2 months ago).
One of the cats pees in bed when we are at home, it never happens when we are not home but only a short while after we get home she pees once then she pees on the box again.
I have tried everything I can think of!
I am going crazy and am starting to reach the limit where I or the cats move out.
What should I / we do?
I’m so grateful for any answer.
P.S. Both my cats are females if that makes a difference.
Hey!
Cats peeing in strange places are always tricky problems to solve. There are a few different tricks to try.
Always wash the bedding immediately.
If the urine has passed through to the mattress, consider throwing out the mattress so that she does not smell urine and connecting the bed with a toilet visit.
Put a bowl of food in bed. Cats usually prefer not to urinate where they eat.
Feliway are Pheromones that are sprayed in the room and give a “cozy atmosphere” (for cats) that calms the cat and can curb unwanted behavior.
I myself have had a cat who likes to pee in bed (even when I was lying in it.
Not fun to wake up from the cat peeing on one). The only thing that helped was closing the bedroom door.
Good luck!
