Hey!
My husband and I have a neutered female cat that is 3.5 years old, an indoor cat in an apartment.
She never wants to sit on my lap and be patted and she always takes the first opportunity to scratch, I think she feels insecure.
She is quite shy and easily gets scared of new people.
She used to lie on my lap and sleep in my bed when she was a little kitten.
Now she wants to be at peace 70% of her waking time.
On the other hand, she is sometimes very funny, usually in the morning or when we have not touched her for several hours.
Is she stressed and will Zylkene help?
Grateful for answers!
Hi Joan!
It is unfortunately the case that cats are very individual individuals, not everyone likes to be petted or cuddled with when they become adults.
But since you describe her as a bit shy, maybe she’s a bit stressed and not really happy.
Zylkene and Feliway (sedative pheromones) can definitely help.
Then I think you should go to our blog and read the articles about cats’ behavior, including how to enrich the cat’s indoor environment.
I think that could be very good for her and you.
Good luck!
